Hi everyone! Just wanted to share with you my newest adventure with the written word. Recently, I was told about a new AI website called Suno.com, and loving new challenges, I just had to go take a look. I uploaded a poem that I wrote about my youngest son when he was a baby and ‘tried out’ different voices, tones, and genres to see which one would be best suited to the poem. It was a blast putting it together, especially since it was his birthday the night I made it public and sent him the link to his song Petey Bird.
Then I tried another poem that I really wanted to make into a song, and did the same thing with that. Again, listening to different voices and music, I had to throw out the first choice that came up as operatic. Yup, not for a song called Fantasy Song about children. So I persisted and got more descriptive until it came out exactly the way I imagined.
My next attempt was a mournful poem about a woman who is grieving and struggling to cope with her pain. I wanted a much softer, more emotional sound to this one, and it only took a couple of tries to get the finished version of Dark Lady. A previous version of this poem was included in the 2020 Fear Worry Anxiety anthology of the Sutton Writer’s Group. Feel free to take a listen by clicking on the picture.
