April 16, 2023 2023 Blackstone Valley Art Association Art & Poetry Show

I was paired with artist Frank Robertson in the 2023 Art & Poetry Show. My first public appearance as a poet was delightful!

As the poet, I was charged with providing one of my original poems to Frank, who then created an artwork depicting my poem. The poem I sent him was The Baby, one of my favorites.

Then Frank provided me with one of his original works for me to interpret via poetry. His painting was Rocky Landing, which I found hauntingly beautiful. We had recently lost someone very dear to our family, so my creation was an ode to her life and friendship.

2025 Blackstone Valley Art Association Art & Poetry Show

I was paired with artist Carol Plante in the 2025 Art & Poetry show. Her painting gave me an opportunity to try a different style, so I researched poetry written as conversation. I saw an exchange between husband and wife, and wrote the lines to be read across, then down. I provided her with my poem Midnight Marauder, which was published in Country Woman Magazine July 1995. I loved her vision of my cheeky little guy!
