Her Pain

The 20th poem I turned into a song, this one was from the 2025 BVAA Art/Poetry Show. The painting I was to respond to reminded me of how many times women are unwell or in pain in ways that are not visible to anyone else. Our family’s’ dependency on us to be on point 100% of the time is a weight we can’t always carry with grace, but we do our best to meet everyone’s needs as we trudge through difficult days. It’s also a reminder that your pain isn’t always something inside you, it can also be someone around you who just doesn’t get it!

Here’s to you, ladies! I wish I’d done this for Mother’s Day, but better late than never. We support each other as we make our way through this journey. Enjoy the song below. It can be downloaded as an MP3 file. The cover was created in Canva and the song from Suno. The poem is, as always, mine. Enjoy!
